general diognostic problem

hi,

ive been trying to make a computer for my mum so i put together an old one i had which is:

amd k6-2 500mhz
128mb rab
onboard mobo gfx

i got half way through installing windows xp and it chrashed, it was late so i thought f*ck it, ill do in the morning,

however this morning when i turned the power on, the monitor doesnt seem to turn on, however the fans are working inside and so are the cd/hard drive. ive checked power/connections

i couldnt loate the cmos reset jumper so how could i do this? (take the battery out?)

any help will b much appreciated!

You could take the battery out, after you unlplug the system. I would also serious consider another OS if you only have 128 MB of ram....or rab as you called it.

XP aijnt gonna run on the measley 500MHz system. Trust me, I've tried it on 3 different systems. Occassionally it WILL install, but to use it, it as slow as molasses.

I would HIGHLY suggest Win98/ME or get her a real CPU.

but i cant get the bastard to work :<

still nothing comes up on screen, i tried resetting bios, taking out dimms, taking out network card any other suggestions?
