I'm building a new rig using, among other components, a CM 690 case, IP35-E mobo, and a cooler master GeminII. My question is, should I mount this sucker before installing the motherboard?

I also say yes, I always mount the heatsinks (CPU NB sometimes SB) before putting the mobo into the case. It can be a very tight squeeze once the mobo is in place.

Definitely. Especially with a cooler of that size, it will be much harder to install it if you put the motherboard in the case first.

Well considering the way to screw it in is in the back of the motherboard..I guess you should :D
