Ive been out of the loop for a while, my friend needs some ram. I was just wondering how the Geil ram is? Im looking for the cheapest, and best performance i can get, looking for a 512mb pc3200 stick. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

I dunno about their RAM, but I will say that my experience with the company in general was horrible. I ordered a Geil 128MB USB drive from Newegg and when I received it had immediate problems with it. It would not recognize more than 4 MB of the drive. When I tried to contact Geil customer support they would not return my messages and I had to call three times before I got a response. Their answer was to tell me to return it to Newegg.

Strangely by that time Newegg had dropped the entire line of Geil USB drives. Hmmm...

Anyway, the bottom line is that their RAM may be terrific, but their customer service is ass.

The PC3500 1GB kit I ordered had one stick in it that was DOA. Save yourself some trouble and go with Crucial, Kingston, or Corsair.

I have 4x 256mb sticks of their pc3200 and I haven't had any problems, all dual channel. My timings suck though, 2-4-4-7, running as speed

While I'm on that subject, should I turn down the timings in bios?

I have 2x512MB sticks of PC3500 by Geil. It is nice looking RAM, and I have not had any problems with it (once I flashed the BIOS...it wouldn't go at the 2-6-3-3 timings without a BIOS flash).

I have a DFI LanParty Canterwood board.

RAM I own
DFI LanParty 875P I own

I have the same 1 Gig kit (2x512) PC3500 and have had no issues what so ever. Stuff runs perfect, even with overclocking. My 2.8c is running at 3.6 without any issues at all. I coudl push it much farther, just haven't tried yet

All memory stands the chance of failure. Some more then others. I've heard good things about Geil memory and for the price its hard to beat. Mushkin is the best followed by Corsair and Kingston. I havn't had any Geil memory to test to see how well it operates or to see how error-free its able to run because i only buy Mushkin, Corsair, and Kingston. Customer service is one of the big things to me and how well they will treat you if you have any problems with the RAM.

I personally love muskin, the 2 sticks i have are pretty fast and reliable. Their tech support is un par. They certainly do their research and can help you with specific problems.

I have Corsair in all my PC's. The stuff just works, plain & simple. I would consider some Buffalo with the BH5 chips if I were in the market right now though.

my geil PC3200 512MB runs fine at 2-3-3-11(value series)

through my experiences i would recommend it, not good at OCing though
