Geil RAM problem

OK fellas, I'm new here so don't flame me, but I have a problem I hope someone can help with.

Please check my sig for system specs. Here's my problem. I have two sets of the geil 512 sticks. If I put all four in I get random blue screens. I've tried both sets by themselves in slots 1 & 3 and they work fine. I called Soyo tech support and they said that the Geil was low end ram and that was why. That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me so I found you guys. I'm hoping that maybe I can change some settings that will enable me to use all my RAM. Here is a link to the ram.

The timing specs on newegg say 2.5-4-4-8 but the box says 2.5-8-4-4, don't know if that matters.

Thanks in advance. :)

try bumping up the voltage a smidge.

also, 2.5-8-4-4 is the same as 2.5-4-4-8, just a different way of writing it.
also, use memtest to make sure your ram config is stable. it works better than using windows reboots to check.

It usually appears in the BIOS in the 2.5-8-4-4 order, but is usually listed by manufacturers/retailers as 2.5-4-4-8. RAS to CAS and RAS Precharge are the most significant ones (the 4s). Frequently only the CAS (the 2.5) is advertised.

Geil isn't the best stuff out there by any means but it's definately an "enthusiast" brand. They lied, it's Soyo, big suprise.

You might try setting 2T (may appear as Command Per Clock = Disabled) and see if that helps. It's also a good idea to test the sticks individually, and also if you've the patience overclock them individually as they won't all hit exactly the same level.

Soyo is just passing the blame saying it's Geil's fault. I've got a set of Geil that ran at 283Mhz 1:1 in a vmodded IC7-G.

Geil seems to like voltage, so if you're running it at 2.5v, then bump it to 2.6 or 2.8 or something. I think Geil provides a warranty up to 3.1v (at least for my PC4000 sticks), so you've got plenty of room there.

and use memtest as suggested. It will give you a first indication of any problems. Use test #5 and #8...they're good at finding errors. Using memtest will also prevent any data corruption caused by the ram (if it is in fact the ram). But test each one individually and in pairs. If you don't have the patience, run the test at night while you're sleeping...if you wake up in the morning with no errors, chances are your ram isn't at fault.
