Geil + DFI NF4 SLI or Ultra

Anyone here have already tried this combo:

GeIL Ultra DDR 500 (1GBGL1GB4000DC) + DFI NF4 SLI (UT, non UT) or Ultra?

I've heard a lot about the overclockability of those memories, but i´m hearing that this mobo's are quite special about memory, not all brands work well.

Check the DFI forums for specifics. There are whole modded BIOS sets for more popular RAM types, specifically BH vs TCCD's on these boards. There are over 10 modded BIOS releases since March with various changes in RAM tables.

Same memory I have, nice choice
So yes, it definately works, and works very well (275FSB @ CL2.5 here)

Here is a link to about 25 BIOS versions. You can find some discussions on different experiences, but most of the testing is with Winbond vs TCCD chips and I'm not sure what chips your GEIL uses.

I'm running the PC4000 ram in mine with little problem. I did have to push the DRAM drive strength to the max to get it through memtest fully.

As for this board being a 'bit special' when it comes to ram, is an understatement!
