Is it possible to trick a gaming application into thinking you have Pixel shader and vertex shader compatible hardware, when you don't? I have a toshiba laptop with a Geforce4 card. I can't imagine its possible, but it never hurts to ask

MY friend does this (he's a graphics programming student with a GF4 card.) It's possible.

I have no idea how, though.

You can enable NV25 emulation in rivatuner, but as pointed out above it really does no good.

What game(s) are you trying to fool?

Everquest 2 is the game. I like to take my laptop to the cottage. I guess I'm screwed

There is no way you're going to be able to play EQ2 with that, especially in the cities... You could try though... mmm.... evercrack.....
