Geforce 7800 GT

well this card is just coming out and hasn't had the chance to go down in price like the gtx has, wait a while and it will become a better deal.
 
I'd rather have the 4 extra pipelines. Sad to see they forgot why the 6800GT was so popular, same pipelines as Ultra just lower clocked and $100 cheaper. Way to go Nvidia
 
It might be possible to unlock 4 extra pipes.. though from what I heard its not looking that way. This card appears smaller than the 7800gtx so it probably isn't packing 4 locked pipes , if it does i'll be surprised.

I think Nvidia's 6800 U took a bit of a hit with the 6800gt biting a chunk out of its sales. Nvidia wants people to buy the 7800gtx , that means more money for them. What they don't want are people getting their hands on these cards and OCing them to GTX like speeds. Me , personally , I dunno if I am going to get this , or the 7800gtx. Both cards will be able to play the games I want to at a high res so I dunno , its still up the in the air for me. Both will be a huge jump from my crap ass 6200.

Conversely, they remembered why the 6800 Ultra wasn't very popular. Why get an Ultra when its so easy to take a 6800GT and overclock it to an Ultra for $100 less?
