GeForce 6800 GT

All I have heard of the BFG 6800's series are good.
And the 6800GT is a good card, even with the 7800GTX out :)
And I belive most(if not all) cards comes overclocked with lifetime warranty.

Terra - I got a Sparkle 6800GT AGP myself and have no complaints about the 6800GT :)

I don't know about you, but it looks scary to me. If the card goes in that first slot thingy, then you might be in trouble. But I don't know where PCI-E cards go, unless that slot close to the RAM is really for SLI.

BTW, I did look at some benchmarks. So far, it's a little close to call. And the prices too are close. So... :confused:

Just kidding. Holy shit! Asus BRAND NAME!!! 6800 GT is only $274. It almost makes me horny. I gotta check if Zipflyzoom or monarch computer has it. They ship to Canada. Tigerdirect also ships to Canada but sometimes their video card prices are not the best.

That Asus 6800GT is a 6800nu overclocked to a GT speed Core and it only has 128 mb DDR 1 memory. It isn't a real GT without the 256mb DDR3 memory.

Actually, they have a 'real' 6800GT as well. Their website lists two different models, one of them conforming to the normal 6800GT specs.

Edit: Opps, just noticed forumposter's other post linked to the 128MB version.

It will fit fine... I have two GTs in the SLI version of that mobo and they fit great. I think you read the thread about the 7800GTX and the Neo4 SLI.. that trouble was resolved by pushing the caps back, and it's only specific to those 7800GTX cards (not 6800 series ones) and the Neo4 SLI.

they both have ups and downs.... ati is known for being the hl2 engine lover, nvidia is good for doom3 a like engines COUGH quake 4 COUGH dukenukem COUGH, but lacking sm3 and lack of hdr is a bad thing.... crossfire is almost here so you can't justify that 6800 gt is better than the x800 xl cause it has SLI. And don't forget that x800xl only cost 220-250, 6800 gt is still costing around 280-310 price tag so comparing them is not a fair thing to do...

I love my GT. I wont be changing it for a couple of years.

Managed with a GF3 Ti500 quite happily till 3 months ago.
 
I have a BFG 6800GT, albeit AGP. But it's pretty well the same. The only gripe I had was the stock fan (2x40mm Blue LED fan system). It was loud as hell and didn't cool very well at all. But I bought a Zalman VF700 ALCU and now it stays on 420/1100 no matter what and runs like a champ. Low temps and quiet also, on the silent mode of the VF700.

unless everyone with a 6800nu gt ulta got it to work except me, please tell me how!!

I don't have any WMV9-HD files, so why should I?
The DVD(MPEG-2) function of the 6800GT VPU works fine.
You need latest drivers AND Purevideo decoder to get it to work...

Terra- But NOT for WMV9 files though...but like I said...I don't won any of these..only DVD's...
 
I've downloaded all the HD stuff from the Microsoft site and it all plays superbly. Superbly dull too but plays perfectly ok.

I have a TV/DVD for watching any movie longer than 5 minutes anyway.

One(the 6800 SLI) has current uses..the other(Crossfore) is still vaporware...you are comparing apples to oranges..bad debating....

Terracide - And what about games like Splintercell?(SM1.1/3.0 only)?
