I have a BFG 6800 Ultra OC and I have a 550 watts power supply. The power supply is from Mad Dog and I am wondering, if it will run the 6800 Ultra smoothly. Any Idea?

Going to say probably, but it depends on the load capacity of the 12v rail(s) of that PSU.

dont spam...

if your talking LE's on the ultra PCB, they were an evga thing that disappeared quick...

and yea, the psu SHOULD handle fine, im assuming its fom tigerdirect?

I PREFER TO BUY A 6800LE TO UNLOCK
Indeed, you go do that.

@OP

Have you got a link to the brand of supply? Manufacturers page? More than likely it will be ok, or you can just post the 12V specs off the sticker on the side.

I have a 380 W Antec True and I haven't noticed any problems running my 6800 GT. I am not doing any kind of overclocking though, so it may be more critical in that situation.

Another vote for probably, i was hoping it might have the specs for the rails on the site, but it doesnt, which is crap.

My current 6800GT ran fine on both a 350W and a 430W antec. it depends on alot of other things, like how much juice is used elsewhere in the sytem. id be more concerned with quality of the manufcaturer. ive not heard of that one.
