GeForce 6600 Problems

I got this card and im having some problems when i try to play games with it:
Four games of mine stopped working (Both Max payne games , Half-life 1 , postal 2)
By stopped working i mean that when any of this games has finished loading a map my computer crashes and i have to restart it .

Please help!
 
What graphics card did you have before this 6600?
Have you plugged your power supply into the graphics card?

I would say the first thing to do would to be to see if the card is properly pluged in and seated in the AGP or PCI-E slot. (as mentioned above)
I would say the second thing to do would be uninstall your old driver and download the new ones from Nvidia.
After that report back.

It would also be nice to know what your previous card was and maybe even your motherboard if at all possable.

Well to be perfectly honest I don't know what could be wrong, as long as the power is pluged into the card it should work...might want to test it in another system if possable. If the same thing happens in another system you might need to RMA...

I didn't think vanilla 6600's needed external power, just the GT's. Am I wrong about this?

Do you know what kind of temperatures you are getting?

What powersupply you're using?

Did all these games work previously with the old card?

 
the 6600 requires no external power. What is are your system specifications?
