Which one would you choose for FPS Gaming

I currently have a PCI-e (x16) slot on my Mobo

Also what is the difference between the 6600 and the 6600GT??? (Is it a noticeable difference?)

The best I can say is, I have a 6600GT AGP and my Friend has a ATI x700 PCI-E....My Card gets about 5-7 more FPS. We compared FPS on FarCry, Doom3, Battlefield 1942 and UT2k4........

6600 is apparently nice, as is the 6200, but it depends more on luck with unlocking/oc'ing things. 6600gt is pretty solid regardless.

6600 and 6600gt both have pixel shader 3.0 the gt is just faster. Out of 6600 the 6600gt and the x700 get the 6600gt it is the best by a bit of a margin. The 6600gt is even faster than the x700pro.

this is a good article to read on the 6600 vs 6600gt.

basically the 6600 is for the casual gamer.

the 6600 GT is for more for the performance crowd that wants performance but doenst want to shell out an arm and leg.

the 6600gt are on average has a 500mhz core vs a 300mhz for a 6600
6600gt ram is 1000 mhz GDDR ram vs 6600's 500-700mhz DDR (note gddr is better)

you might take a look at this.

its a 6800 vanilla. (aka just a regular one)
and its yea.. 170 AFTER SHIPPING.

a 6800 while slower on the mhz and ram speeds will smoke a 6600gt due to the 6800 having more vertex and pixel shader co processor on board. not to mention its 256bit bus
i cant remember but i think a 6600gt has a 128bit bus.

so yea... if the prices are close go w/ the 6800.
if not , hit up the 6600gt.

hope this all helps.

Exactly, get the 6800 if you can, it'll smoke a 6600GT, especially if you can unlock it
