I have a friend in Canada...he called me up today and told me a little story about his videocard making noises and such... i told him its a dead fan...replace it.. he said how can i do it... i told him to find a geforce 3 fan online or somewhere and install it. but then he told me that he doesnt have any expernice with any hardware componets inside the computer so i told him that i will find a good fan with a document thingy that will tell him how to install the fan and send him the link in a email...
so do you guys know any fans that will work in the geforce 3?
i told him to get the zalman cooling heatpipe but since it was a ass to install i didnt even bother telling him...
and he needs a guide or something to show him how to install the fan...

I used a chrome orb on my old GF3. Once you pop the old HSF off, make sure the chip is clean, put on some thermal grease and snap the orb through the holes in the PCB. He may have to find a way to push the pins on the backside of the card together to release the old HSF, it depends on what kind is on there.

I took a couple of pics of my card. My batteries went dead, or else I'da done a few more, sorry. Don't mind the dust, the card has been on a shelf for a few months :) That black thing is the push-clip that snaps through the PCB. There's another one across from it.
