After hearing about EVGA 1080's VRMs going up in flames I'm glad I bought a FE card. Although I never had much luck with EVGA with my GTX 295, I do hope this is not a trend with 3rd party manufacturers making cost cutting cuts (thermal pads on the VRMS cant cost that much?!?) to undercut the FE cards with enhanced clock speeds and cost. IMO this hurts Nvidia partners more than Nvidia itself
