i am new and dumb...

but i have a 2001 ddr1 motherboard. and i really want an AGP All In Wonder x800XL. i see that it is GDDR3. first, what is GDDR? and second even, if it is GDDR3, will it run in my computer?

If your mobo supports AGP 8x then you should get it. GDDR just stands for Graphical DDR memory. Make sure your system doesnt bottleneck the card. Happened to me 1.6P4, 512MB DDR333 + 9800Pro = 1/2 the FPS I should have been getting.

If the mobo is AGP and the card is AGP it should work just fine.

well basically make sure you have AGP 4x/8x slot, Then make sure that slot has agp 3.0 support, if it does ten you are all set :)

2 ways to find that out (if its 3.0 complient) one if you have current motherboard drivers installed, you can use a application called CPUZ, then go to the Motherboard tab and look under AGP information.

the much easier way is to jus know if the agp slot on the board suports 8x agp, if it does it is at lest 3.0 complient. if its not a 8X slot then dont even think about wasting the money on a high end card as you will see very use out of it in 3d appz...

sounds like you dont have a highend comp, but just incase list your specs.

OH GOD.... IT DOESNT COME WITH CABLES OR DRIVER CD......

last time i checked, the All in Wonders needed special drivers.
is there somewhere i can download them if there are special drivers?
also, does it need any caples hooked up to it to work?

but right now i have an AGP 2x/4x Radeon 9000pro! it isnt 8x!
so do i open my case and just read the slot?
