I'm so tired of hearing about what a good deal this stupid gayway FX is, lets keep it simple,
Gateway = Shit?
 
I've had two bad experiences with Gateway and will no longer deal with them.

1. My first laptop came from Gateway. After a few years I started experiencing audio issues with it. At the advice of an article on Gateway and one of their tech support folks, I attempted to update my BIOS. The BIOS update failed thus bricking my machine. No matter who I talked to they refused to repair my system for free and I had to pay about $350 to get it fixed. This was before I learned about the BBB, attorney general, etc so I was basically bonned.

2. My girlfriend bought a tablet for school. There was an option for free Microsoft OneNote so she jumped on it. When we got the receipt it did not show it on there so we contacted support and they told us because of the special it wouldn't show up and we would get it. Well when we received the computer, we never got it. After multiple contacts with their support, they refused to help us so we opened a BBB complaint. After a few weeks they conceded and stated they would give us a free copy. They didn't send it for a month or so later and when they closed the BBB ticket, they stated that we never ordered OneNote but demanded it and they decided to just give it to us.

I hate Gateway.
 
Gateway WAS a POS but now its much better since it was bought by ACER, and their new FX is cheap, stable and FAST...and ill prob be picking up the Gateway FX since its such a good deal, ive heard nothing but good things about the FX
 
Dude seriously, wtf is up with you and your Gateway hatred? Matter of fact, your hatred on all things period. Do a search on this guys past posts. You'll find a ton of them are just negative UNNEEDED comments.

What experience do you have with the FX laptop? And why do you consider it shit? How can you justify calling an ENTIRE company shit due to one product (being the FX Laptop).
