Hi,

i know Gateway plans to fix this defect. Is there a serial number or identifier or production date to reference the fixed models? I purchased this monitor from Bestbuy.com with the defect earlier this week and if I ask for a replacement, I am afraid BestBuy will send me another defective monitor. Any help is appreciated.

Regards.

I will give a call to my contact at Advanced Tech Center and find out.
I don't have the number at the moment, but once I get home I'll give it a ring.

There should be a manufactured week on the back of the monitor. Not totally sure though.
I know it is stated in EZtune.

It might be best to have Gateway replace it.
They're pretty fast on it too. although I'm not sure if they have much stock to ship one out soon.
Because my replacement with the extended warranty hasn't shipped yet, even though it has been 2 weeks.
The account exec. that I've been talking to has told me that they're pretty much out of stock. Mostly due to the fact that they're not shipping out the ones from one of the manufacturer.

Also, from what I was told - the defect is only on approximately 2 out of 10 monitors.

Thanks enyceexdanny!

if you can provide info on models, that would be great. Plus, do you know when HP will ship the defect free monitors to retailers? I know they are not sending them out to individuals yet, but maybe HP will fulfill Bestbuy's request first before end-users?

Regards.

I've been following the XHD3000 defect thread pretty closely as I just ordered one on Sunday. I was told that they are on back order, but I'll have mine by next weekend. I'll give my info once I get it.

anyways i have a fhd2400 and im about to return it and just get this monitor but when i just called gateway, rep told me that the backorder date is 12/17 ? december? wtf??

i will be getting mine through bestbuy.

It is backordered because all the shipments that have the potential of being defective are being sent back. They're waiting for the new batch to arrive.

this monitor comes with 1yr warranty. Has anyone purchased extended warranty with Gateway? If so, how much and what does it cover?

There's a 3 year extended warranty (+2 additional years on top of 1) and a 5 year.
The 3 year costs $150, not sure how much more the 5 year costs.

The coverage is the same as the standard 1 year warranty.

My rule of thumb is, if the additional warranty costs less than 10% of the price of the product - it is a go.

BestBuy apparently has them in stock. I ordered mine on Monday, and it's being delivered today. I sure hope it's from the new batch...
