So I've got a several year old FP2485W, and I'm wondering if it's completely flaked out or may still be recoverable. The monitor fell asleep and wouldn't wake up. It hadn't been acting strangely up to that point. Unplugging and replugging the monitor produced no immediate results. The attached speaker bar receives power from the monitor, and is working properly.
Now the strangeness begins. After being plugged in for a fairly long time, it went into some sort of self-test/diagnostic mode. The screen alternates at 2 second intervals between black, white, red, green, blue being displayed across the entire screen (dead/stuck pixel test or something?), but the power button remains unresponsive, and none of the other touch controls work either. When plugged in via either VGA or DVI to my desktop, the monitor shows up in device manager properly, but there is no output to the screen (if it is cycling colors, it continues to do so). I also tried a different VGA cable and attached it to my laptop, where the display is detected by Windows, but no output shows up on the screen.
Is there anything I can attempt to do to get it back in working condition, or has it clunked out for good?
