Gateway 22in LCD

I was wandering if anyone here has or has seen the new Gateway 22in LCD. They seem to be showing up now at Best Buy. I have been trying to find a 22in monitor that has minimal backlight bleed. I have tried 6 Samsung 225bw, 3 Viewsonic 2235, and 1 Acer with no luck on any of them. I'm hoping Gateway may have fixed this issue but it seems this generation of 22in panels have a definite problem with bleed.

I dont know of any current 22" not to have any bleeding , it just seems to vary by brand , or even by unit . The Viewsonic VX2235 I had , showed minor bleed on bottom , my current Samsung 225BW (2cd unit) has slight top/bottom bleed but very livable .Even my brother's current Gateway 21" FPD2185W has some bleed (in an X pattern).

I tell ya one thing ,.....my bro's FPD2185W just bit the dust 2 days ago only after 10 months of usage . The FPD2185W just plain died for no reason . Although the FPD2185W is still under warranty , Iam not too impressed by Gateways customer (rma) service so far . Myself being the techie in the family and the one to test out the blown Gateway ; I called Gateway to go through the rma process . Well , Gateway told me their rma service was "down" and not available atm , and later they would not even talk to me as I was not the original owner of the lcd (even though I had ALL necessary paper work and info ) , WTF !!!
Looks like the rma process is going to be a pain in arse and may take quite awhile to even get going ... and hopefully BEFORE the warranty ends .

Wow, that doesn't sound good. I agree with you that it seems 22in panels in this generation have bleed too some degree. I keep hoping I can get that 1 in 100 panel that has very little but I guess I don't have that kind of luck. Guess I'll holdout for the next generation and hope this gets resolved.
