My DVI port went out in my monitor. I had to go back to VGA. Text is blurry. This is a work monitor and 90% of the use is for text. Is there anyway to get text clearer?

My PC is XP/SP3. I have tried standard and cleartype. Under DVI, standard was better for me - but in VGA, cleartype is better. But still a blur. Any hope for this monitor?

Hello,

I have the exact monitor and currently running DVI from desktop (NV 8800) and VGA from laptop (ATI x700). I find that standard is better for both.

You can try the following:
1. Did you remember to click "Apply" after changing to standard as the "OK" just closes the Effects screen. I forgot to do that the first time and was wondering why there was no difference.

2. Also when running VGA, I would sometimes full screen a webpage and do the "AUTO" button on the monitor.

3. Lastly, try unplugging and replugging the power cord. Only reason I say this is because I once messed up the resolution or vertical/horizontal shifts due to frequent PIP SWAPs and AUTO while I still had PIP.

Hope that helps.

PS - monitor just turned 3 a few days ago... knock on wood.

I had changed the VGA cord out - someone told me to try that - it cleared it up some.

But just now I hit the auto button and text is fuzzy again. I tried to figure out how to undo the auto button. I reset the clock to 25. I unhooked the cables and reconnected, but maybe I need to reboot to clear it up. I'm in the middle of working right now, so I'll have to try that later.

I've not had any trouble with this monitor until now - It's 2.5 years old.
