Another guy figured out how to adjust the gamma to brighten up doom 3 simply open up your ingame control by pressing your ` button and type r_gamma x x can be 1 -3. Well 1 is the default setting... I adjusted to 3 and its way to bright, then I adjusted it to 2 and was still tad to bright so was like dam. Well I thought hey maybe you can adjust it like 1.2 or 1.5or 1.7 etc and you can! Im telling ya set your gamma to 1.3 and its freakin perfect not to bright not to dark just makes the game come alive and look kick ass. If ne1 has the game could you please put up some screens with gamma at default and then gamma at 1.3 also to compare. youll love it ! 1.5 looks dam good also

Ya just looked at screens again and 1.3 - 1.5 on gamma does wonders for this game you can actually see some of the cool graphics :)

well ne1 going to adjust the gamma to 1.5 and post a couple screens vs the stock gamma ? I would like to see what it looks like. I wont be getting the game for a few more days.

I tried to takes SS to show the difference but I believe DooM3 is taking it out of video memory as the gamma changes do not show in any of my screen shots. It does look better running higher gamma I am using Gamma 1.4, here are some SS anyway..

I am using a 9800 NoN Pro @ 400/310

too bad its not showing the gamma difference on the screen shots :-( but ya setting the gamma to 1.3 - 1.5 makes it look alot better in my opinion also.

I use a gamma setting of 1.31 when I play games on my lcd...only way to make things look
as bright (gamma wise) as a CRT.

1.0 vs 1.6 as set in console.

I on the otherhand will use my normal 1.31 (control panel setting) along with adding the
1.6 in console.

This game shows the need for HDR Lighting, everybody would see proper ambient lighting.
But we would most likely need the next 6800 chip refresh to get more power for HDR.

I just hit the superbright button to level 1 on my NEC2142SB-BK ;)

I know I'm an ass huh, but well...it works...
