It's been a while since I built a complete PC. Probably about 8 years. Looking to build it mainly for running Premiere Pro and then some gaming as well. Looking to utilize a 299 motherboard and the latest components out there. Not sure on what the most compatible memory will be. Also, planning on using (4) SSDs in RAID unless theres a compelling reason to run standard HDD. Heres what I have so far:

PC Hound Part List

CPU: Intel i7-7800X ($425.98 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI X299 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ($334.98 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Graphic Cards GTX 1080 Ti DUKE 11G OC ($729.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: SAMSUNG 500GB 960 EVO MZ-V6E500BW ($234 @ B&H)
Total: $1,724.95
Price may include shipping, rebates, promotions, and tax

What do you guys think?

Any particular reason going for the MSI Carbon AC? Don't know any negs about it just wondering why over others. I think some of the Asus boards have a few more features. The gigabytes have the most eye candy.

The M7 ACK is pretty sexy board for just a little more to.
As is the Lightning Z but way to much really.

What about memory, psu, and case?
What kind of cooler?

Already the 4xSSD's?

Could get a delidded 4.9 for $470 at Silicon Lottery.

No interest in Threadripper?

Looking for suggestions on memory. I've been eyeballing the 299 strix as well.
