I am building a system for a friend and need some help! I would prefer to order components from: newegg.ca or NCIX.com, but am open to other Canadian retailers.
My local shop is http://www.memoryexpress.com/, so I may get the monitor and case there if it saves me on shipping. Is there much risk of dead pixels on modern monitors? If so, I would prefer to buy that locally in case an exchange is necessary.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, internet
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1000 Canadian +/- $100, after tax and shipping
3) Where do you live?
Calgary, Canada
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
CPU, Motherboard, Ram, Case, PSU, Video Card, perhaps Windows 7 64bit if it fits in the budget
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
IDE Optical Drive, 500Gb SATA Hdd (not sure of the model)
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
Need to purchase a 24" with this budget
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Today or sometime this weekend
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Nothing Special
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
Already have a retail copy of Vista 32bit, but may be interested in Windows 7 64bit if it fits the budget
Thanks in advance for any help!!
