Gaming stutter/Frame skipping(6970)

My setup:
ASUS Radeon 6970 DirectCU II 2GB
Intel Core i7 2600K
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws 8x2GB
Corsair HX-850 Power Supply
Corsair Hydro Series H60 CPU Cooler
Corsair Force Series 3 60GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB X2

Windows 7 64 bit hm premium

I've been experiencing severe in game stutter/frame skipping so far on my new build, it happens on most games, I get great fps in every game I've tryed but it still occurs, battlefield 3 75+fps high/ultra settings, black ops consent 90fps, witcher 2 50+, mafia 2 130+fps but still stutters, I also gave css a try and although I get 250+fps in feels very jerky and in no way the amount of fps im getting. Ive tryed other games and they all get stutter. My temps on video card never hit above 65 degrees, cpu stays around 45-55 while gaming, and hdds never hit above 40. I have not overclocked anything yet, motherboard and video card drivers are all up to date, ive tryed a lot of different drivers, I am currently using the latest asus drivers for my video card.

Troubleshooting
Ive reformated windows(windows on sdd, 1 hdd is for gaming, other is everything else)
Tryed reinstalling games on different hdds.
Tryed different PCIE connectors in case the psu ones were faulty.
Turned of called hyper threading that apparently effects games.
Changed power settings on motherboard.
Everything is now default settings.

Any help would be much appreciated
 
You need to turn off parked cores in win7 and turn on vsync in bf3
Don't ask why just do it
 
Odd, could you maybe describe the stutter a bit more? Is it a short stop every few seconds or does it stutter constantly? Is the stutter identical in all games? Does it happen when watching movies? It's not necessarily a video card issue, but have you tried different drivers? Switched that powertune thing to +20%? Tried forcing game affinity to just one core?

Maybe you could also try removing all but one or two sticks of RAM and see if it makes a difference?

On the issue of V-Sync, I notice considerable (to me) 'stutter' in BF3 MP with my HD6950's. So I tried turning it on.

Knowing that V-Sync is likely to impose input lag I was wary, but I don't see the change in my playstyle, while the game does appear smoother, though not yet perfect.

I say try it, it can't hurt to give it a run.
 
Every 1-3 seconds it stutters/frame skips, some days it feels worse than others.
 
you need to do the registry tweaks and unpark your cores in win7
 
i have 2 6970s and i have to turn vsync on for the game to run smooth. i think the whole thing is a bug because it does not introduce any lag
 
What other registry tweaks need to be done apart from unparking cores, btw I only had to unpark 1 core is that normal, and also my general feel of desktop doesn't feel smooth.
 
Though what you described seems like a different issue, maybe try capping your fps.

Use something like Dxtory to set a cap at 60fps and see if it smooths it out...
 
SamxL, I just got the 6950 version of that card. Installed the drivers off the Asus site and have no issues in BF3.. no settings changed.
 
Here is one for you. Friend had a 5850 crossfire and was getting stuttering. The fix :: Changed from Chrome to using Firefox as the browser.
 
I turned off Triple Buffering and Turned On Filter Keys (Ease of Access Center >
Make the Keyboard easier to use > Check Use Filter Keys > Click Setup Filter Keys >
Check Turn On Filter Keys > Click Setup Repeat Keys/Slow Keys >
change to 0.0 Seconds > click Ignore All Repeated Keys > after you apply all
settings back out one more and uncheck beep when key is accepted and the display icon.

Yea Yea I know what your thinking but I found this as a fix for problems in Dead Island
but it made a significant different in all the other games I play too. Its worth a try, but in
your case it might just be your SSD?
