Well my current set i bough a month ago wireless started acting up so ima just sell it and buy a new mouse/keyboard but this time WIRED. Anyone have any good recommendations on a combo, just separate keyboard/mouse, budget is $100.

P.S , will also take reccomendations on headsets

I love my Logitech G15 and MX518. The G930 headset is pretty nice too.

Added a G9X and it real nice too!

I'd stay away from the G15 keyboard unless for whatever reason you need the LCD, you will see many of the forum users saying after the first week with it they never look at it again...

$100 can get you quite a bit so I guess it depends exactly what you are looking for in terms of a mouse and keyboard, can you give some more info like, what are you favorite style of keys on a keyboard, what grip you use on your mouse, and if you need any extra features?

Steelseries 6Gv2 + Logitech G700.

Good job staying within budget, and wired....

But for your keyboard you like WASD, so that's a good start you won't be needed macro keys, but are things like a backlit keyboard important? Also what kind of keys would you like? Regular, Scissor Switch (laptop), Chiclet/Island (newer laptops)...

And as for the mouse there are many choices, I'd recommend the Zowie EC1 (or 2 if you want the smaller version) it's very similar to the Razer Deathadder which I would also really recommend. They should be around $40-50 and are mice with the best tracking on the market. No acceleration issues, and with the exception of the Zowie, no prediction (but I honestly don't see any difference)

As for a keyboard I'm currently using the Kensington Slimtype and it works incredibly well... I do have some ghosting with the c or v keys, but I'm not using WASD either so it may not ghost at all in your case. It's about $20-25 or so on Amazon last time I checked and it the best feeling keyboard I've ever owned. I prefer it over the Razer Blackwidow with mechanical blue switches.

Das Keyboard or Filco keyboard with your choice of Cherry MX Blue, Brown, or Black switches plus a Logitech G9x. That setup works for me. Truthfully mice and keyboard combinations tend to be almost entirely subjective. I'd go to a local store and molest different mice and keyboards, then simply buy what you like.

While I agree with you Dan_D, He'd have to stretch his budget quite a bit since those keyboards will be at or above his limit depending on if he goes used.

budget is $100.

How about Razer BlackWidow ($75)+ Logitech MX 518 ($25 AR) from Amazon?

I would definitely go for a mechanical keyboard and the Steelseries 6Gv2 is in my opinion your best bet to stay within budget.

might get that mouse, any recomandations on LINKED keyboards, maybe razor im guessing to be a duo, and also, i talked to some friends they said the Razor Mouse Pads are extreme help, any advices on those?

Deathadder ftw. It is a fabulous mouse and the only thing I would replace it with...is another deathadder. May add a naga to my collection one day, cuz Im a wow'er, but not for a replacement.

Also, try a logitech g15 keyboard, and g110. Pretty cheap gaming keyboards with fantastic features and quality.

looking into ur mouse u suggest, most likely going with the g15 keyboard, found one from someone new from box for $75 waiting on reply :)

The LCD display is great for Vent and Teamspeak to see who is talking.

My Setup is: MX518, G15 Rev 1 (with all 18 GKeys), and a G13. I bought the G13 because of the thumb joystick on it when I broke my wrist I could do everything with one hand.

I use the LCD a lot in world of warcraft, vent, teamspeak in blackops, and I like to see my computer performance during different things. I find it quite useful actually.

lol, anyone mind giving me some linkies if u find some cheap g15's/g500, might be the ones i end up choosing

noticed the g15 is deactivated in newegg, any idea why it aint coming back ?

sometimes logitech does Dented Box sale on the G15...check for these in the [H]otdeals thread. That's where I got mine for $40 shipped. I love the keyboard.

most deals here on the [H]otdeals thread are stolen here from slickdeals.net so i keep looking there, no deals since nov

Its an outdated model I think. The g510 is the current lcd model for $119 retail, the g110 is the no lcd for $79 and the g19 is the deluxe version of the g15, its like $199.

some plp have told me the g11 is fine since th g19/g510 are just the same with a more fancy lil screen that is movable

I had a G15 for a while and I never really used the screen. Others do find it useful though.

$199 for a fricking keyboard thats not even mechanical, seriously? you would have to be dumber than a doornail if you ask me.

While I think you put it a bit harshly, your right. For that price you can get a much better typing experience. Membrane keyboards just aren't worth that much money. They aren't well made enough nor do they last long enough to justify such a price tag.

I used a membrane keyboard for the first time in a long time at CES, comparing Razer's Starcraft 2 membrane keyboard against their new one with the Cherry blues.

Man, I am NEVER EVER going back to membranes, mechanicals or scissor only for me.

I love the Cherry MX Blues. My favorite since the IBM Model M's buckling spring switches.

I use a G13 and a Performance MX Mouse. I can't game on a regular KB anymore after using an N52 for a few years and now the G13.

If you look around for the right deals the g500 mouse and sidewinder x4 keyboard make a great combo.

They're nice. I like the Cherry blacks myself, given the number of typing errors I am more prone to make with the browns (sold mine) and the blues. :)

I had a chance to (briefly) feel a 7G at Fry's since they finally put it up on display. It's pretty surprising how much of a difference that tactile bump makes. I also found them much heavier. They're not really for me, but that's why different switches exist. Everyone can find what fits them best. :D

Different switch options from Steelseries would be killer too. I'd probably pick one up if they offered Blues or Browns.

You know, I did the same thing you did, which was why I picked up the Filco brown. A few weeks later I got the 6Gv2 as a gift. Lo and behold, what I experienced at Fry's was completely misleading! The thing is that the actuation point is very high up on the keypress, so you don't end up using that much force at all unless you always bottom out your keypresses. I ended up selling the Filco because I made way more mistakes on those extremely sensitive Cherry browns.

As you said, this is why there are so many key choices, and it is great. That said, the only real way to evaluate these keyboards is to actually type on them with a computer that is on.

You can't get Filcos anymore.
