Gaming Rig

Buenas Dias amgios,
I am quiet new to the forums, and relatively new towards computer hardware, but I need help on building my new Desktop computer that would be 99% for gaming purposes. I know how to put the hardware together as well as configuring the bios, I just need a good build that would cost between 900-1000$. I only need computer hardware such as motherboard, video card, ram, case and a processor. If possible, provide a link to a purchasing site like newegg or amazon.

(P.S.) If I am posting in the wrong section, please let me know for I am new and unsure on where to post this sort of thread.

Close but no cigar on the forum. You'll want to copy/paste that post into the General Hardware section, where residents like Enginurd will be happy to give you an entire build to fit within your budget.

In fact, there are already a number of "$1000 gaming rig" threads active on the first page as I type this, so you may not even have to bother with your post if the requirements are the same.

Thanks amigo, I feel like an idiot.
But on the other 1000$ rig, that still makes me feel uneasy on how recently these were poster, because there are always new deals and better quality hardware each month!

Mobo: EVGA nForce 680i, Asus striker Extreme
Cpu: Intel Conroe E6600 or better E6850 or Q6600
Cpu cooler: Water Cooling: Swiftech H20-120 Premium or on air with thermalright 120 extreme Zalman 9500 or Ac frezer 7 pro
Ram: 2x1GB Mushkin 800 mhz
GPU: Dual EVGA 8800GTS 320MB in SLI (or 640 mb)

Oh yeah, most definitely don't hesitate to post your own reqs. in the general hardware section. I used to be one of the guys there who loved hopping around Newegg finding the best deals to squeeze the most hardware into the budget....but then you finish college and have no time.

better off with perhaps a P35 based mobo (Gigabyte one is nice), Q6600, the Thermalright 120 xTreme, DDR2 is fine, and a 8800GTX. Cases are a personal preference...

Yeah, a p35 based mobo is good also, but i think that the 680i chipsets are better in gaming.

you can get all that for under a grand?? dang I've been out of the game for a while.
