Computer - Gaming rig
Case: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=11-133-132&depa=1 (TT tsunami)
PSU: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=17-153-006&depa=0 (TT 420watt)
Mobo :http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=13-130-491&depa=1 (MSI NF4)
CPU: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=19-103-501&depa=1 (3000+ s939)
Ram: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=20-145-440&depa=0 (1gb corsair)
Video: x800XT, x800XL, 6800GT, x850XT, one of them (haven't decided)
HDD: WD 2x 120gb 7200rpm
Drive: (using current dvd/cd-rw)

That's the computer, and later on I'll get a nice 19in LCD.

Now for CS (in leagues):
Headset: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106455 (this will go along with my clip on zalman mic, never was a fan of headsets)
Mice: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826104178 (mx518..why not?)
Keyboard: Current wireless MS keyboard

I'll probably upgrade the heaphones, but it really depends on how these one work out ( I need another one for my electric guitar when parents are sleeping)

So what do you guys think, are all these compatible parts? And also is there a better part that I might want to switch to?

I know the a64 3000+ might be a little weak, but nothing that OCing won't fix.

The total price is 795.26 with shipping from newegg and tax at a local BB or computer store.

That seems like a rather wide price range for your video cards...

Looks pretty good, except for the PSU. I've had it and it's performance wasn't quite there for me...but maybe that was just me.

How much oc'ing you looking at? Value Select isn't supposed to get you THAT far..also what kind of cooling are you considering?

Firstly, hello everybody. New to the forums (kind of obvious), but they look pretty cool. ;)

Now, to the topic. That's a really good looking setup you've picked out, but one thing I'd change is the PSU. If you're going to be doing heavy gaming and OCing, you're going to want something that can handle it. OCZ, Antec and Fortron all make really good PSU's. One more thing I'd do is to wait for the Venice core, especially since it's supposed to overclock like crazy.

Got the same pSU, great steady power, BUT, there is NOTHING Silent about it. In fact it´s the damn loudest part of my rig and runs hot as hell. Ii´m getting rid of it and replacing it ASAP...

Get the MX518! Best mouse I´ve ever blown too much money on! First mouse I´ve ever blown too much money on actually. Never seems to be in stock at the egg though. Just run down to Best Buy and pick one up, same price anyway.

i say you get the x800xl it will be godd for you dont waste money now on high end video cards as a whole new generation of video cards will be ocming out soon so use the x800xl and a year from now upgrade to one of the newer cards !

The reason why i have that big of a range on video cards is that I can get all of them at the same LOW price (special connections). The choice is obvious that I get the best one, but I also have to look at the fact that I don't want to get an outrageous PSU (i'm a little worried about the electric bills - comp is on 24/7). Ocing I'm not too worried about, since it's not a BIG OC.

The PSU, I think I might have to change. Is there a PSU that can handle at least an x800xl and is EXTREMELY DURABLE. Price range at max will be around $50, but lower the better :).

If you are going to pay the same price for the video card regardless of which one you choose, get the x850xt. And agreed with above, try to stretch your budget just a bit and go with a Fortron psu. the 400W blue storm will cost about 70.00 shipped.

Don't skimp on your psu. It's the heart of your system. You need to cut a corner somewhere else and get something like this.

hyundai is NOT a bad company anymore. And yes, it's partially because i am korean but no matter (hopefully TT isn't the "hyundai" when it comes to cases).

Ok, I guess you guys make a good point, so what is a really dependant psu, it has to have some looks to it as well. Antec is pricey, but if it'll serve the purpose...

But then again my asphire psu that came from my x-dreamer case STILL runs after 2 years of overclocking (350watt though), so I really don't buy items cause of names (why don't i just buy a sony instead of making a custom?).

A 520 watt psu doesn't actually use 520 watts. It can put out up to 520 watts but most of the
time won't draw more than 200 watts. A 400watt ps would draw the same.

Maybe Ice Czar can elaborate, I'm a bit of a PSU n00b.
