Gaming problems

I have the new EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb superclocked video card that I put in my fiance's new computer. Earlier I had posted a thread concerning the fact that windows vista shows the card as having only 256mb of video memory. It was stated that this is a driver issue by someone on the forums. Earlier today I installed World of Warcraft and the new expansion to try out gaming on the card. Settings are at 1600x1200 and I turned of AA and AF after initial low frame rates. However, even after doing so and reducing the resolution the choppy play continues. I am not sure if this is what should be expected but I would like to see more from this card. I ordered it after reading several reviews including those on this site praising this cards performance. In the [H] review world of warcraft had great frame rates at 1600x1200 and highest in game settings. Am I doing something wrong? My rates are in the teens to single digits. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers several times to no avail. Is the poor performance due to vista and the associated drivers or do I have a bad card? Thanks for the help guys.

If you still have your XP install disks around, go back to that. Drivers are hit and miss for a lot of people, depending on your setup. And since you mentioned you installed wow first, I'm guessing your girlfriend is going to be itching for some game time. Vista isn't ready for gaming for the majority of people yet.
