I'm thinking about turning my Gaming PC into a full time HTPC. Here are the specs:

AMD Opteron 170 Dual Core running @ 2.6ghz
2gig Corsair RAM
1 Tara of Hard Drive Space
EVGA 7800 GT
Water Cooled
DFI Lanparty

Right now this rig is on an Antec Lanboy, I want to get an actual HTPC case, so recomendations needed as well as other HTPC accessoried that might make this baby better. Also, I will be purchasing a 42 inch LCD flat screen TV to complete my HT system.

you might need to find a smaller motherboard... and I'd recommend buying a xi-fi soundcard too. not an expert though... I still like huge bulky full towers

A Xi-Fi is a waste for an HTPC, unless it's also used for gaming.

Other than that it looks good. Add seperate OS drive to it and you'll be good to go.

I'd say if the mobo has spif onboard try that first, the if not get something like the Chaintech AV710, its a great soundcard, and its cheap as well.

Unless your a major gamer than the X-Fi will be a nice card, but other than that not nessary.

What inputs does your TV offer? Cause if it's only svideo then that card is majorily going to waste.

For a case you might want to look into the Silverstone LC17 or similar case.
