Hi all im from austarlia and i would like to know what is the best 19" LCD for gaming

(sorry if in wrong post)

Samsung's 915n or Hyundai's L90D+ seem to be the best choice right now. Both run around the same price ($370 USD) and have an 8ms responce time. They both run off the same panel so which ever you can find cheaper.

FYI, The Samsung doesn't have DVI though. That matters a lot to me. Otherwise I would agree.

Something to consider though is that 8MS PVA Panels of all sizes are coming out in the next few months that will be very nice!

Where did you hear this?! I'm debating on keeping my new 2001FP because of ghosting while gaming. I've been wondering what's next for LCD's and when. 8ms sounds good, but I want at least 20" and less than 800 clams.

Anyone have any insights, scoop, etc.? Break some news here tonight!
;)

Yes I am also currently in the market for a 19 or 20 in lcd gaming LCD .. a while back some so called "Gaming lcds " came out i forgot the company's name and what model but they proved to be quite a dissapointment .. anyways, other than response time what else should one look for in lcds any particular specs to achieve nice quality display because some lcds out there arent all that in the actual display aspect. ohh and i forgot to ask real world applications other than gaming .. such as drafting.. autocad and what not. what can you look for to avoid that as well warranty or any spec to avoid burn ins...

I've been looking at the NEC 1970GX. Just came out, 19", 8ms. I've been waiting for some reviews to get up though, as it's very new.

depends how much you want to spend, but the L90D+ is really a good gaming LCD from wat i've heard, and its quiet resonable priced IN australia too. (depending which part you are from, i'm from sydney,. and the best price i've seen for the L90D+ is 550AUD i think)

Looks like it's a TN panel, that's unfortunate. Especially at that pricepoint. It looks to have the same exact specs as the Hyundai L90D+ and costs 300 dollars more.

There isn't really a difference between Analog and DVI on these two LCD's which use the same 8ms Samsung panel. I have the Hyundai L90D+ set up on Analog at the moment because my Dell 2005FPW is using the DVI port and it looks the same as it did on DVI.

I am using a L90D+ as I type this message, and I will tell you there _IS_ a difference between analog and DVI. Some people don't seem to notice it, but its definately noticeable to me. There is a text sharpness difference and a temperature color difference that can't be fixed with the adjustments. I have tried.

Now if it doesn't bother you, then great, but it does bother me. I will say this monitor is better than many on analog though. The difference isn't as major as many others I have used.

I have a MAG Innovision Monitor I purchased at BB. It may be a no namer to some, but game alot with it. No ghosting. Very Nice Monitor @ 16ms.

I think it will depend alot on the video card you use as well. The ATI cards seem to have better DVI output then the nVidia cards do. I know the DVI quality on my 6800GT wasn't as good as it is on my x800xl now.
