Gaming for me

Well, right before HL2, I was probably the biggest gamer i knew. I would sit hours on end playing CS, BF1942 and mods, UT2k4 and mods, and games on my PS2 like GTA, Madden, Tony Hawk, FFX, Jak II, etc. You get the picture. Well, i just started my second semester of college 3 months ago, and ever since, games have been all but lackluster for me. I pick up CS every 2-3 nights, play for 20 min, and im done. I cant get into any other games, no matter how good. Whats wrong with me? I wana go back to having fun doing nothing and playing games!!

Welcome to growing up. Games are fine and all, but there's a whole world out there to explore. Hey, you might even find a woman!

Watch out for the bears, though. I hear they live out there... :p

Rofl, i am not sure i like growing up very much?

It is growing up.

I was in the same boat about a year ago. I am still growing up. I am looking forward to getting married and starting a family then I am the next round of consoles. Although recently I have been spending time coming up with concepts of the next xbox, wich is a weird waste of time huh?

Anyway....

I only game for about 3 hours during the week, then maybe 2 on the weekends. I don't mind either.

Look at it this way....if you don't game as much, your games last longer, making that 50 you just spent on it seem not as bad. See...silver lining! :D

I go through 'down times' every now and then. I don't feel like touching a game. But eventually days or weeks I feel like picking it up again. That's just me thou.

Right now, I usually only play with a friend. Sometimes having a friend playing makes it a whole new game.

Yea, playin with friends is the best experience. Unfortunately, my friends are so freakin busy lately its been rediculous. I dont know why i have so much free time and they dont? (I go to college full time, work part time)

It's been like that for me since high school... dn't worry.. it's all good...

anyway i don't have time to play video games for that long ot begin with.. lol..

Well, since I only require 6 hours of sleep, I'll always have gaming time...I can see me gaming until I'm an old and wrinkly guy...

/will never grow up.
//what's a woman?

OWNED ;) .

You have a demon in you. That is the only explanation. Get exorcised immediately.

I remember back in the day...when Dennis "Thresh" Fong defeated some guy with a cool name in the Quake 2 1v1 finals. Anyway, the guy who lost was like "I'm done with gaming...the real world is more interesting" or something to that effect.

Sometimes, people just lose interest in things that once interested them.

i found a woman, now i only play like one night a week, there is so much to do in college (i am also a second semester student) dont waste all your time on games, go out to a few parties, get wasted hook up with a random girl etc. college is all about trying new things and meeting new people. to quote a country song
Scars heal... glory fades
And all we’re left with are the memories made, oh yeah
Pain hurts, but only for a minute
Yeah life is short so go on and live it
Cause the chicks dig it

I pretty much wasted my whole first semster playing games, but this semseter i have done alot more socially, however my grades have taken a slight hit ( i had a 3.4 gpa last semster, i am expecting about a 3.0 this time)

I think you've just outgrown shooters. Time to move on to some RTS, but maybe a little roleplaying; eventually you'll be ready for empire builders. :D
