Game servers cache hungry?

Are game servers CPU cache hungry? I'm trying to decide between a 2GHz Celeron @ 3GHz and a 1.6a @ 2.4GHz for my primary game server. It has the Celeron now, and the 1.6a is just chillin' here. Is the cache really important or is it raw horsepower?

At those speeds, it probably might not make a difference because its a game server... But if you have to purchase one or the other, and have the other one just laying around... Just use the one thats laying around.

Yeah, this Celeron only slows in cache intensive apps. It seems to me that game servers wouldn't be that cache intensive. I own both chips, and I'm just trying to decide which I want to use...

Couldn't you test them before deciding?

Yes, I could, but that would require more effort than I'm willing to put into it. See I have this whole lazy factor.... :D

sorta also depends on the game....BF1942 or farcry takes a lot more then say CS :)

This is true in terms of general resources. I'm talkin' specifically cache though...

Just put them both on your desk or table, stand in the middle of the room, spin ten times with your eyes closed, while drunk (optional), and then point to somewhere, and whatever processor is closest to what you point at, theres your winner!
