Game Problems

I just put together a new build and I'm having a few little hiccups here and there. The first and most prominent is Fallout 3.
Even though I'm running at max settings, the view distance LOD is still very low. Here is a screenshot for an example(the text was for another forum). The weirdest thing about this is, is that this exact problem happened on my old system, which was completely different except for the PSU. I've also noticed it on a couple of other screenshots I've seen where the person supposedly had the settings to maximum. I get little flickering textures as well (I've made sure temps are all good), which are somewhat ignorable but are still big immersion breakers.

I am also having troubles with water reflections. Even though everything is at maximum settings with everything checked, I get no reflections, you can see it in the screens. Any idea on what may be causing this? screen 1 screen 2

I am getting a few glitches in STALKER as well. I read the tweak guide on it, so I'm hoping those settings do something for the lack of AA, but my problem lies in the shadows, in where they load much too close to me. I can be within 15 feet of the trees shadow, and see half of it extremely detailed, and the other half blurry as all hell. This goes for all shadows. This isn't as much a priority as Fallout 3, but it's still an odd glitch.

So has anyone seen this before or know what to do? I know I can mess with Fo3s .ini to make more grids load, but I'd rather find out why this is happening in the first place. Also there isn't anything in the .ini for the water reflections.

Thanks for any help I get, I e-mailed Bethesda about this, the first e-mail, they ask for a dxdiag (when I specified all the info you'd get in a dxdiag in the first email), then they refuse to help me becaus the dxdiag I sent them was for Windows 7, even though I told them the problem I was experiencing occured on XP64 and Win7. Oh well. Sorry if this doesn't belong here.

well first off.. fallout 3 is a horrible game to use to find issues with a system.. since fallout 3 its self is the issue with everything.. its one of the worst coded games to ever hit the market.. it has endless issues.. just take a look in the PC gaming section of this forum.. its just one issue after another with that game..

as far as i know the water reflection is a dx10 thing so it would only work in windows 7 and not xp64..

as for the AA in stalker you are pretty much screwed because the game uses a blur effect AA which is the same garbage thing used in the new ghostbusters game.. and can only be fixed with an update that changes the coding of the game..

in short.. theres really nothing you can do.. your pretty much screwed with the AA in stalker and the horrible performance in fallout 3..

That doesn't make sense though. If something is going wrong in the game, there should be some way to fix it. I know Fallout 3 was horribly coded, but there is no reason as to why I shouldn't be able to get it to display properly view distance LOD.

The water reflections don't work in Windows 7 either.

Somehow I doubt that will get me anywhere, but it's worth a shot.

I get awesome performance, it's just something is making the view distance LOD shorter than it should be max settings.

I've noticed shadows in Team Fortress 2 are really pixelly and blocky as well. Not all shadows, some cast by the bridge and such. Huge squares. Might supposed to look like that though...
