So I have had this card since january or so and recently I have been having more and more problems that seem to be related to the card.
I have been able to play some various games such as Bioshock, Planetside, Doom3, and Crysis without any issues, but when I play EVE Online I have had some hard locks.
For anyone vaguely familar with the game- it is completely stable until I am on a stargate. At that time I seem to have a chance of locking up, it also seems to be associated with mouse clicks/movements. Like if I am on stargate and trying to jump or if I am doing some other kind of action at the gate there is a chance of a hard-lock. So basically, the game is entirely stable unless I am trying to travel between different systems in space.
Now I have gone through all the usual diagnostic steps and I really can't find any kind of stability issues outside of EVE. I have found some other instances of people with similar problems, but not very many, and I don't see any kind of common connection or possible fixes.
The other day I had something different happen while playing EVE, I got this message:
I got 640x480 res and 256 colors and ended up having to shut down because the system manually because windows would not shut down after a few minutes.
It got me thinking to check the event viewer and this is what I have found every time I have these hard-locks and also from the time I got that message:
Now this does somewhat lead to me believe that there could be some hardware issue, even though I have yet to be able to duplicate problems with any other games. I think I have ruled out all the obvious problems such as overheating, and I have tried various drivers and settings.
It's going to be a while before I can obtain a different video card capable of actually running this game, so does anyone have any other suggestions on how to diagnose this and try to duplicate the problem outside of eve, or how to fix it?

Windows - Display Driver Stopped Responding : The ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft.

The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.
