Galaxy S3 how to customize notifications?

how can I change what items make what sounds or any sounds at all? I'm having a noob moment here.

EG: I want phone calls to ring and vibrate
Texts to ring only
Emails to not ring or vibrate

OMG i so want to know also, i had to turn off most notifications because they turn on the damn screen at night, so now i don't even get an icon if I have an email, I have to unlock the damn phone lol

OK I figured it out, go to the gmail app, hit the settings button, go into the settings for that email account and modify it in there.

read above, I think the icon thing never worked for gmail. Only for the built in mail app.

 

[Condition]

For texts you just open the text App, hit options, Text settings and change to ring/vibrate/ring&vibrate etc...
