Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Only thing that I have heard about them is that they were advertising that the GTs were shipping with Ultra speed RAM and people that have taken off the HSF have noticed slower memory.
Other than that it should be a good deal. Golden Samples usually hold their value pretty well.
If youre an enthusiast and youve got the money, then get it. Value is irrelevant because youll spend another $400.00+ in 6 months when something faster comes along.
If youre an enthusiast and you dont have the money, get it anyhow. Whats another $400.00 on your jacked-up credit card.
Remember when $90 a share for Microsoft was considered a value for tech stocks? Some will argue that $400.00 + for a single computer component is a value, too. You cant talk logic to computer junkies.
The 1.6ns was a typo and I believe all GT cards ship with 2.0ns. The heatsink issue I have no clue about. I ordered one through zipzoom today I'll let you know if I ever get it
