gainward 6800gt gs problems......

hi i have a gainward 6800gt golden sample. Everything has been well and good until recently, when my game became checkerboarded in the middle of counterstrike. Well that scared me shitless, and now, everytime a 3d application pops up or am watching a movie this would occur. I swapped it for a radeon 9500 pro, after uninstalling the drivers via safe mode, the card wouldn't run past the windows loading. This is really disturbing and i am kinda wondering if it could be the power supply, which is one of those modded ones by Aspire.

Rest of my specs are listed here:
A64 3000+
Asus K8V
1024 mb memory
Thermaltake Case w/4 fans all on
Vantec Spectrum Fan card.


I really could use help, i am in a bit of a bind.

I've had no problems with mine under CS and I wouldn't trust any other PSU company other than Antec or Enermax.
 
i am merely overclocking @ enhanced speeds which are guaranteed by gainward to be @ that speed
