Since today is launch day.... Lets have some fun. Answer these 2 questions.

1. Who ordered today and what brand/model did you order, and why?

2. Who decided to not order today and why?
 
EVGA 8800GTX (x2) - Why? Because I am a lunatic. :eek: :D (also, step-up possibility if nVidia refresh of G80 is <90 days)

EVGA SLI 680i also ordered... should have probably waited for Asus Stryker, but whatever.... :rolleyes:

Order placed for BFG 8800GTX.

Why? Well if you really need to know....BFG and myself have had a little thing for awhile now. :D
 
Ordered 8800GTX from Leadtek, arrives in 14 hours XD

Choice was XFX or Leadtek, identical cards but the leadtek sticker looked better XD

BFG only sell through a retailer I refuse to shop with in the uk :(

Ordered an eVGA 8800GTX from ClubIT last night during their 15 minute "window", hehe.

I love eVGA's customer service.

I'll have it in my hands Friday. :)
 
Oh man business has been high for nVidia. All the sites are bustling with information on which e-tailer has the 8800GTX and who has the 680i. Intial tests show the board can go past 500FSB :eek:

nVidia is raking in that dough :D

Evga 8800GTX ordered from the egg. Had 3 evga cards and 0 problems so far.

Keep buying! my nvidia stock is loving it! :D
 
1 8800GTX via the egg coming my way... now, if only Fry's would send me the RAM I ordered that they decided to backorder on me I'd be able to finish putthing this build together ;)

Reasons for buying today:
  • New build that I want to be able to enjoy for awhile without having to think of upgrading so soon.
  • I enjoy gaming and think I'll get some good use out of it.
  • I have money burning a hole in my pocket.
  • I can sit back and wait til I can afford a 37" Westy now without other costs looming over my head :p
 
Just ordered 1x eVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

:D :D Why? Because I NEED the next generation of graphical ownage for my games.

Usually I buy BFG, but the EVGA just looks so much cooler, so went with that this time
 
I bit on the eVGA from the egg. Will be here Friday. Now i'm kinda wondering if I should've upgraded to conroe first.


I'll be running this with:

Antec SLI 550
Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe
Opterown 165@2.8GHz
2GB Corsair LLPC3500

Will I be CPU limited with this card? If so, I think i'm just going to cancel and get conroe first.
 
I just bought the XFX 8800GTS over from MWave.com. 2nd day shipped for under $500.00!

This is to compliment my system which should be delivered today: PC Thread

Can't wait to get it! On Saturday I'm heading over to a buddy's place for an alcohol-filled night involving PC building and OCing!
 
EVGA GTX from TigerDirect, my last 2 cards have been BFG but I was impressed by evga's response to the 7900 mess (which I was bitten by).
Although I made a mistake on the shipping address so now that I've called to correct it, it'll probably be out of stock before it's updated :(
 
I decided not to order because the current prices of 8800GTS cards are hovering around the $500 dollar mark a little bit above my budget. I will only pay $449 Max.

Ah well guess I will wait to the next batch or just a few more weeks after all the heavy earners have spent their money.

Did Microcenter online to instore pickup.. got mine, have it installed.. happy as can be.

I reserved a GTX at Micro Center (Denver; they said they had seven in stock) a few hours ago. I'm going to pick it up in an hour.
 
8800GTS from DirectCanada... Why? Cuz The 8800GTX wont fit in my case with my current watercooling...

And that turned out to be the max I told myself I would spend.
I was dissapointed when I saw all those gts's for 499.

Edit: Woot already shipped even this late at night. 2nd day air.

Why is everyone using step-up as a reason for purchase? I doubt we will see the refresh in 90days.

Just in case, and why not? It doesn't cost anymore than other companies w/o step-up. I will admit that the XFX lifetime +1 is a good program too. If you decide to sell later, you can transfer the warranty.
 
Ordered a bunch of stuff from Newegg today that came out to $~1600. The charge has shown up on my debit account's "Available balance" but the order is still in step one. Talked to Newegg and they said they have to call my bank for authorization because it's such a high amount. Does this sound right to you guys?

eVGA cuz it's got step up

oh, it's an 8800gtx

i might be running this thing bear for awhile if it doesn't fit in my case

Fedex overnight - will be here tomorrow.
My Conroe Rig will also be here tomorrow... so should be good times.
I Only have a 20 Inch Widescreen monitor, so I can only game at 1680x1050 so the GTS is for me.
I will get a GTX when the 8900s come out
 
Bought 1 Evga and 1 BFG. Both GTX's. Newegg is allowing only 1 per household, and I wanted SLI on friday. Also ordered an eVga 680i motherboard. System in sig will be the same, save for the new MB and Video cards.
 
Fry's

Evga 8800GTX--I like their step up program and support. I also like the lattitude when dealing with coolers and such so the decision was easy.

I also like playing games :)

Overnight Shipping = $12.00

If you didn't order today for tomorrow, you're screwed until Monday, unless of course thats a holiday and then your waiting even more. That's why I had mine sent onvernight.
