I just wanted to post this for you guys.... Just got my headset and was noticing audio popping while playing games... I didn't think much of it until I started listening to music, and it became intollerable!!!

I found a thread here that referenced DPC Latency Checker

Anyway.. I downloaded the app, and noticed red vertical bars going up to 4000 microseconds regularily... I figured.. RED isn't good, so I set out to get rid of them...

Anyway, I've got an i970 with 12GB Ram on an Asus Maximus, 3xgtx480s, the G35s, a couple of SSDs and some other drives, and an Auzentech Forte....

So there were a few apps loaded.. but the red bars vanished when I killed AISuite II...so did the popping...

I reopened the suite, and the popping/red latency bars returned....

With the issue isolated to AI Suite, I went in and started turning dials in AI Suite II...


It turns out that Settings -> Monitor ->Sensor 1.00.04 was the culprit.
I can have Settings -> Monitor-> CPU Frequency 1.00.16 enabled, but as soon as I enable "Sensor" I get latency, and associated popping.


Anyway.. I'm good now, thanks to the message I found on this board!

Hope this helps anyone having problems with these headsets (or audio popping in general, b/c I think it was happening a bit with my sound card too!!!)

UPDATE - The Static issue that was scaring the sh2t out of me while playing Metro 2030 late at night with the volume cranked has 100% ceased too..

Damn latency!

All good now!
 
good post. Something like that monitoring the PCI bus I would guess? Glad you pointed the problem and later the solution. Some users may think that occurs with new or bad drivers in general.

There have been many problems in the past that I've had.. I'm wondering if the solution to my past issues was something like this.

Anyway, I've added the DPC latency checker to my toolkit now.

Great program - saved me no end of troubleshooting/frustrations!
