G3258 4.8GHz OC @Tech Report

i can only see a epic fail there. how its that the Stock 4790K (and even 3770k and 4770k with way lower clocks) bench better in crysis 3 than the overclocked 4790K why test with medium spec system and FXAA?... sadly they just tried to give some hype to the G3258.. crysis 3 its extremely core/threads sensitive the only fact that use Hyperthreading on vs off with my 3770k@4.5 and a 780@1300mhz drop 18FPS in average at the same clocks same scenes same test lot of times.. and how they can tell that a overclocked 4790K bench worse than a stock 4790K and also tell that the dual core G3258 almost on pair of a 8 thread chip? that cause me a big laugh..

This is awesome. I want to throw together a system for my son so bad around this system. I think I will do it for his birthday. Maybe by that time people will be unloading their chips that they played with.

If you look at the comments, people talk about the Crysis3 settings and also that they don't test "Welcome to the Jungle".

One comment also says that their x264 results are off, when compared to xbitslabs.

The Tech Report x264 results.

It seems The Tech Report updated their x264 benchmark with the later x264 r2334 encoder which supports AVX2 and FMA,and xbitlabs uses the r2345 and r2358 encoders which support the same things.

i just bought one of these, i can report back findings gaming wise. I built a second budget gaming rig with one, 8 gb corsair, a z87x-ud4h and a 5770
