Pretty noob question here but I have this GPU and I see the site lists an OC mode.

OC Mode - GPU Boost Clock : 1354 MHz, GPU Base Clock : 1203 MHz
Gaming Mode – GPU Boost Clock : 1329 MHz, GPU Base Clock : 1178 MHz

Is it just a switch I turn on? Can anyone advise me how to activate OC mode? Couldn't find anything online.

Also if I do this is there anything else I should do or need to worry about?

just guessing but i believe nvidia clocks have an automatic boost when the gpu is needed and can be tweaked with apps like msi afterburner by adjusting a "Temperature Target". Download afterburner and give it a try http://download.msi.com/uti_exe/vga/MSIAfterburnerSetup.zip

Thanks, I have Afterburner but havent really messed with it yet.

Maybe I misread. They made it to appear that there was a seperate "OC MODE" on the card.
Maybe not

yes, there's a different OC mode for the card, and its controlled via software with the MSI Gaming APP.. there you can select between the 3 profiles, Overclock mode, Gaming Mode and Silent Mode. also there are included a bunch of extra features and controls for the card..

interesting...never heard of that before..so msi has 2 different overclock apps...they made by different people?

they are completely different, the gaming app its for the Gaming Series of GPU. is mostly to change between the several card clock/fan profiles and control the LED in the card.. nothing more(useful).. Gaming doesn't offer any kind of overclock utility, complete monitoring or photo/video recording as afterburner also doesn't contain Riva tuner so no frame limiter/target..
