G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL

How are these for $40 shipped? Probably going in a P8Z68-V Pro Gen 3 with an i5 2500K or something similar

G.Skill makes a good product and they have great support. I was using the CL7 version of this product for months before "upgrading" to the 1866 kit without issues on my SB system.

You should be fine with 8GB... but if you can afford it, RAM is pretty cheap these days. I managed to get 4x4GB 1600 Mhz Ripjaws for $50.

My 8GB kit of G.Skill Sniper is the best memory I have ever had the pleasure of using.

They make great RAM. Can't go wrong with this company to be honest. Go for it.

You should get these:

From what I've read, they are just awesome, with extreme OC ability. Some running 2133 on relatively much lower voltage! I posted these links in another thread yesterday i think it was.

But no matter what, get 2x4GB, not 4x2GB. It makes it easier for stability, especially when OCing. And don't waste your money on 1333, get the 1600 since the price difference is minimal and the performance difference is the most noticeably in memory jumping. G Skill is great, I've had many of their kits. I had a 2x4GB 1600 [email protected], and with a memory voltage bump to 1.57, I ran it at 7-8-7-22 (though that was on an AMD build).

Why would the OP want those Samsungs? 11-11-11-28? I mean, the reviews suggest that they can do better than that, but I don't see why you would want to buy RAM with the hope that you can do better than its rated performance.

Anyway, I've had a lot of G.Skill memory kits. I have had to do several RMAs, but they've always been very easy to deal with and very prompt in getting me new memory.

The OP would want that kit since they are awesome. I got my set and immediately went with 2133 [email protected], stable. Then with a little more playing with, I got them to 2133 [email protected]. That is a pretty ballsy set that works great. I agree 1600 cas11 sucks, but considering that they can do so much more than that, they are a great buy.

RipJaws and Corsair Vengeance are both very similar and very popular good sets right now to get. They both work very well with the i5 and can work well with overclocking too. I would suggest though that you go with tha PC 12800 or 1600 set. If you want the best chance for overclocking stick with 2x4GB. But I currently have 4x4GB 1600 set in my system with a 2600k and have gotten pretty good overclocking performance out of it.
