Anyone knows how G Code works? You know, those numbers you punch up on your VCR and it "magically" knows when to start and the duration of the show you want to record.

There has to be some algorithm that derives this (up to) 7 digit number.

It may save some time if somehow I can generate this number so I don't have to enter in the recording times, without buying the tv guide of course, and no, unfortunately we dont have the luxury of tivo here in NZ. :rolleyes:

over here in the US we call it VCR+, that should help you along if you decide to google it. . i don't know if the algorithm for it is publically available though.
 
Keep searching. It's out there; C code, and the whole bit.
