Stopped by FYE in the mall today. Did something I hadn't done in nearly a decade. Actually bought a CD at the mall. All single disk releases $9.99 at FYE. Not a bad deal for you guys that like owning hard copies still. Beats ordering from Amazon, having to pay shipping AND waiting.

You should only pay shipping at Amazon if it's not fulfilled by Amazon, you aren't Amazon Prime, and/or you don't have at least $25 in your cart.

Amazon Prime is primo.

I rarely buy fulfilled at Amazon, the store shipping used CDs usually have the best deals. Amazon new deals are mediocre at best.

If music CDs were $9.99 normally... I'd by more CDs. Thanks for the post. I live too far from an FYE to make it worthwhile, but that is a good deal.

I tried to order a whole bunch of used CD's once. I realized it was assessing $3.00 shipping for each one. I thought maybe because they're from different vendors the shipping was inflated. So I narrowed down to 8 CDs all from the same vendor. Didn't matter - it still charged me $3.00 shipping for each CD on the same order from the same vendor! Do you know any way to get this? It seems like a really good deal when you see Used "Like New" for only $3.99. But when you order, the shipping makes it almost $7 ... and I've seen brand new CDs on sale for $7.99 at best buy. One of those CDs was on the list I wanted to order, too. If I'm gonna have to pay $7 per CD anyways, why bother? Why not pay $10 or possibly $8 and get brand new? I just have to wait for a sale...

You know any way to make shipping better from Amazon? One of the vendors was iNet video, and I KNOW if I buy crap from them, they don't charge fricking $3.00 shipping per item!!! I got like 12 HD DVD movies shipped for $13!!! That's barely over a buck a movie shipping.

I work at an FYE in MS, and at our store the CD's are at their normal prices. Maybe that one is going out of business??

Here's what I heard from another forum.

I have a good friend that works at the one by me and he said they had some employees come in a couple days ago and stay overnight to try and re-label everything overnight to have it done by the weekend...as such I was able to take advantage of it today. He said all single-CD releases should be 9.99. Just the CD's, not the CD/DVD combos and whatnot. Apparently it's a nationwide thing, but not all stores are switching at the same time, so if yours doesn't have them re-labeled yet, just wait and see over the next few weeks.

Sweet, guess this might go along with the DRM is dead article from the main page. Maybe the music industry is coming to its senses?

...naw!
