FX5900/5950 and UT2004

My video card performs admirably in UT2004, with settings at 2X AA 2XAF. I usually get 50-60 fps. However, in certain maps, especially Onslaught Torlan, the framerate drops to about 10 fps or lower, and turns into a slideshow fest.

My hardware specs are in my sig. What could be causing such a slowdown like this? I mean, I know the Onslaught maps are big, but not to cause a slideshow fest on a computer like mine.

Help please?

what driver version are you running?

56.56 has a bug in ut2k4 performance, but the new 56.64 fixes it

I switched back and forth from 56.64 and 53.03.

I was running in 1280*960, and that's where I was getting the stuttering.

Surprisingly, I upped the resolution to 1600*1200, and the gameplay was smoother!! but I still got these massive slideshow slowdowns.

I tried disabling aniso and AA, but still the same issues. The only thing that "solves" the problem is lowering the graphics details, and THAT I refuse to do.

Anyone know what's happening here?
