FX5200 smacks down Volari V3!

I'm not surprised at all. The V8 Duo barely outpaced the 9600, had terrible game support, and cost a lot more. I wish the best for XGI, they are currently working on a new line of cards.

Wow.... I didn't think the FX5200 was capable of spanking anything.
Don't read 9600SE reviews to keep your knowledge "pure" then.

The volari V3 has to contend with a 50 mhz defficit, less efficient architecture, and even a slower ramdac(Yuck even though it doesn't affect "performance")

hallo,

i have seen a new review between Volari V3 from Chaintech and a GeForce FX 5200 nU. The Geforce smack down the Volari V3! The GeForce card ist 2 or 3 times faster than the Volari V3. I never have seen a so bad performance of an 3D GPU likes the Volari V3!

here is the link to the review:

gee thats pretty interesting for such a reputable card as the volari series to get such a spanking.

Looks like the card didn't run doom3 at all, wow it must really suck if doom3 crashes it.

or maybe ... the volari isn't on any of the supported chipsets for doom3 ? I checked the box.

None of those games were ever optized for anything but ATi and nvidia cards

Reputable card?

LOL. You're joking, right? XGI is not only new, but they have yet to have a competitive product.

Uh...there were lots of other benches that were run where that card got its ass handed to it.

If we all wanted old school tech we could all buy a GF2 or a TNT. Those rock too with D3 I'm sure. :)
