Im putting together a computer for my cousin. Ive got it locked in at $600 for athlon64 based system, 512mb ddr, dvd burner, nice case, etc. Im stuck on the video card though. I need to keep this part around $50. I dont know if he will be playing many games, but if he does, I want to get the best I can for this price. So which is it? FX5200 or Radeon 9250 ???

The Fx5200 should never have existed. Seriously, it's a bad card. Get the Radeon 9250. I think it's more comparable to the Fx5500 than the 5200, but, either way it's a better card.

What he said. I have a 5200 in my backup system and it's pretty much a paperweight with a fan on it claiming to be a video card.

The only reason to get the Fx5200 is if you are running Linux, otherwise go ATI
