FX-60 Cooling

I have an FX60 with the tall Corsair 3500 memory- What do you all recommend for a heatsink that will not interfere (but keep cool) with these sticks?

Any suggestions appreciated- :cool:
 
more importantly than the memory or CPU, we'd need to know which motherboard you're using :) each one is different. Also, if you've got a small case some high end heatsinks will not fit.

You'll probably get many different responses from this thread, my recommendation will be the Thermalright XP-120, or SI-120 if the XP-120 is not compatable with your board.

Other people might recommend the TT Big Typhoon, Scythe Ninja, or a Zalman "flower" heatsink. Those are all good choices too.
 
The SI-120, Tt Big Typhoon, or the Zalman CNPS-9500 would all be excellent choices. I'm looking at the Zalman myself for a P4 that I have on the way. :)

I wouldn't suggest the Scythe Ninja since I have basically the same setup - that is if you want the 120mm fan to be placed on the memory side because it won't fit - the Corsair modules are too high. It was no big deal for me since I reversed the back fans on my TJ07 to blow out and I bought a Scythe "Kama Bay" front fan to blow in. I placed the 120mm fan with the Ninja on the bottom to blow up. It also helps to draw heat from the video cards. I have a front to back, bottom to top air flow system. If you do decide on the Ninja, you better check your case width as the Ninja is pretty damn tall! At least make sure it is as wide as mine.

Good advise...always nice to have people around with experience with a number of different coolers.

Double check the exact height of the memory, but there wasn't a LOT that I had seen in reference to clearance issue with the 9500...it's actually quite tall, but double check if you're considering it.
