FX-55 Temperature

In the FX-55 system I just built, the CPU temperature (according to 'Asus Probe') is pretty much at 42 C all the time. Is this normal? Is that an "OK" temp? I haven't had an AMD CPU in a while, so I'm a bit out of touch with the norms (last time I had an AMD CPU, they were HOT all the time!)

42C is no problem at all. Mine was idling at about 46C, but the retail fan was spinning way too fast/loud. I enabled CnQ and cut the temp to 38-40C, then used SpeedFan to cut the cpu and case fans to 55% and that made it amazingly quiet.

My FX 55 retail fan sounds uber quiet thanx to the 6800Ultra fan :D

I'm using the Thermaltake Silenttower... it's huge, but its quiet and seems to be working well.. even after heavy usage, the CPU temp has yet to rise over 44 C

My FX-55 system idles around 41-43C. It has hit 55C under heavy load (Half-Life 2).

However, my PCI-e Geforce 68gt runs real hot at 60-63 idle, and up to 90 C during heavy gaming.
