FX-53 vs. 64 3400+ - Noticable difference?

Title says it all. Would I see a noticable performance difference?
 
Probably very little. Not worth the extra money, if you ask me. But then again my pockets aren't deep. IMO FX chips are for rich people.
 
3400+. The FX would probably be slightly faster, but for the price, who cares? It probably won't be enough to notice except in benchmarks anyway.
 
In actual use I doubt you'd see very much of a difference. But then again, I don't like spending as much for a proc as I could for proc/RAM/mobo/vid card combined.

$400 isn't worth it when you also have to factor in the price for Registered DIMMS ($30 - 50 more than regular DDR DIMMs depending). Probably $1100 for the RAM and CPU alone. My entire comp cost less than that (minus case), and you could build an entire Athlon 3200+ based comp with that kind of money.

It's not going to overclock much anyway. None of the 64 bit processors are really great overclockers anyway, I doubt you'd get much out of the chip even with an unlocked multi. Not for the extra money at least...
 
3400+ Its just as good, but doesn't support the dual channel DDR. Its the best bang for you buck these days.
 
Unless your rich, your nuts if you buy an FX-53 or P4EE. Primarily because new processors are coming out all the time and its never worth it to spend that much on one.

Multi's are unlocked below default values.

I can use 11, 10.5, 10.0, 9.5, etc.

You can also run asynchronous (6:5, 5:4, 4:3) & achieve 275 fsb but the memory speed running out of synch weakens the great multitasking abilities of this processor.
