On my fx 5200 ultra the fan stoped working. im not sure why. its plugged in.

when i blow on it to see if it will move with the air flow and no luck. i put some wd 40 on a qtip and wiped it on there making sure not to touch any wires. it starts to turn when the power is on then about 5 sec later it stops.

what is up with it?

is it the bearings?

can i replace it it is a stock fan attached to the heatsink.

you can replace the hsf entirely with a better one... but really if you're going to do that just buy a new video card, if you game I'm sure you know that's a pos card.

yes im trying to save up for a new card.

i had a 5900 ultra that was running at 495mhz/850mhz but my brother sold it.so now im trying to get another 5900. i like the 5900 i dunno y.

A friend of mine Micah, who posts on this board with the same name bought a MSI FX5900XT-VTD128 and got it to (480/800) OC speeds. The 5900 XT is a good card as it seems, it got about the same OC as your Ultra and yet it costs much less :).

PS might I add that he has very good cooling for his case and boasts that his case temps stays about 1 degree above outside the case temps... take from that what you will.

before my brother sold my 5900 ultra i was running it at 495/800 i wasnt even pushing it. when i get my WC it will go a lot more. thats if i can get another card.

you can't WC your ram... and when I doubt the gpu needs much mroe than that... even if it's a seconmd rate gpu like the 5900 with all the problems that come with it including inefficiencies and bad aa/af capabilities.
